In China and Vietnam, this ceremony is often carried out to offer well-beings to our relatives and friends, and also to offer peace and fearlessness for those who are sick or facing difficulties. The Sutra “The Discourse on the Strength of Avalokiteshvara” and the Chant“Turning to the Tathagata” are to be recited in this ceremony.
