Thich Chan Phap An will share with us about being presence for our loved ones is the best gift we can offer to them. By being really present, we can listen to the crying and the laughter, the up and down of life and offer supporting hands to our loved ones.

Ven. Thich Chan Phap An was born in Viet Nam in 1963.   He was ordained as a novice monk in 1992, a Bhikkhu in 1994 and a Dharma teacher in 1999. Before becoming a monk, he worked as a researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology after obtaining a PhD in Applied Math from California Institute of Technology in 1991.

Ven. Thich Chan Phap An has come to Hong Kong many times to lead retreats and give public talks. In May 2008, he led a 7-day retreat on Buddhist Psychology at Kadoorie Center and conducted workshop for health care professional at HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine in June 2008. He currently heads the European Institute of Applied Buddhism in Waldbröl, Germany.

Registration is available online at http://www.plumvillagehk.net/hk/HKPublicTalk.asp on a first-come-first-served basis.  The venue can hold about 200 people.  Confirmation will be sent to those who have successfully registered for the Public Talk.

For those who need Simultaneous Cantonese Translation, please kindly come at least 15 minutes with your own earphones before the talk begins and be seated in the area which is connected to the translation system.
